Even though we are currently in lockdown, the Government is permitting one walk/cycle/jog per day, so we would highly recommend you use this time and get outside in any way possible for some fresh air and exercise.
If you are fortunate enough to be isolating somewhere with a garden then use this time to enjoy it, sit outside for your morning coffee, workout, listen to the birds or just take a moment to breathe. If you don’t have a garden but can use your one walk per day to venture to a green space, do it! If you’re in Leeds and don’t know where to go, then check out the Benefits of Nature cards!
Enjoy a walk or run in an area that’s new to you and spend time appreciating the outdoors like you haven’t before, count the number of squirrels you spot or note how the streets are lined with Spring pinecones. You can even enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of your own home, pick a window with the best view and open it out wide, take a minute to breathe in the fresh air and watch people walking by - 2 metres apart from each other hopefully!
If you have symptoms or are in a high-risk category and can’t leave the house at all, we’ve got a treat for you, take a virtual walk around Roundhay Park!
